Farewell Enkai

In Japan, teachers move school every 5 years (sometimes a little more or less) in order to keep ideas moving etc. We don't find out till after graduation who is leaving. I lost 5 of my super fun teachers.... here are some pictures from the goodbye party.

.... what is happening? Why are they putting their ties on their head???

Why are they pushing me up to join most of the male teachers with ties on their head???

No, some of it didn't make sense to me either!
[goodbye chant]

The one yelling is my 1st year teacher, Yamanaka Sensei... who left. Very VERY sad. He was really cool and one of the younger teachers. I will miss him.

The enkai ended with the staying teachers making a bridge and the leaving senseis (total of 6) going under our hand bridge. Some senseis were caught and tossed in the air.

Afterwards we had a second (nijikai) and third (sanjikai) party: karaoke!
