To give you an example of how much I love Thanksgiving- when offered a choice of coming back to the South for Christmas or Thanksgiving... I chose Thanksgiving.
SO... with all this said, you can imagine the slump I got into, having to teach innumerable Thanksgiving lessons to my kids.
[I guess its pretty expected to do Halloween lessons and definitely Christmas lessons... but not Thanksgiving... and did you know that many countries have Thanksgiving- only called differently and at a different time of year? Interesting....]

So here is an example of one of the boards in a classroom I had just done my Thanksgiving lesson in....

The night of Thanksgiving, I was feeling pretty down... so I did something miraculous (well... to me) .... I MADE Thanksgiving dinner.....
The menu:
There is no turkey so we had some porkchops
Candied carrots
Green beans with cherry tomatoes
Mashed potatoes
Buttered corn

with fresh fruit for dessert....
I must say, I was pretty proud of myself : )
Now, as for Christmas.... you can see I have been busy at home, doing a little decorating:

in other news... at school I started an English newsletter and an English Bulletin Board. Took me all last week but I finished!

Contents: Front page of Beaufort newspaper announcing Obama won and a page next to it that says "What do you think?" and the kids have pens so they can write. There are a couple pictures of my family's house at Christmas... all the kids say my mom is amazing to be able to decorate so well. Some asked me if I live in a castle : ) There is a big envelope that says Please Take One (in English and Japanese) and that holds the multicolored newsletters...... Yes, Mom.... I made the border with the stampers you sent me!!!
Also... I sent out my Christmas packages- Can you find yours??

P.S. Only 12 days till Hong Kong and the Philippines AND only 9 days till Bennett gets here!!!!!!!
