First of all... HURRAY! We have a competent and just man (almost) running the country! Never before have I seen more international support and love for America... JETs from Australia, China, England and America alike are all ecstatic. I couldn't be more pleased, really.
An interesting article, if you have the time: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081105/ap_on_re_eu/eu_election_an_american_abroad
So there is that... now onto recent Fukushima Life:
Nick and I went to the Oyakuen Gardens in Wakamatsu... pretty neat...
Our first trip in Carol (Which, it turns out is a Mazda...)
Then.... at the mid year conference the JETS in Fukushima all went to the Asahi Beer Gardens...
I found an interesting predicament at the vending machine at the conference.... See what I mean?
My absolute favourite country school had their Harvest Festival. The kids there are adorable. We made Onigiri (white rice covered by seaweed in a triangle shape)!
I also went with Nick to one of his country schools. We made mochi (A dough-like sweet that you have to pound with a giant hammer to make)....
Pictures of the Sukagawa Fire Festival and Nick's Birthday to come....
